This IC is used to provide electrical isolation between two circuits, one part of the circuit is connected to the IR LED and the other to Photo-transistor. The digital signal given to the IR LED will be reflected on the transistor but there will be no hard electrical connection between the two. This comes in very handy when you are trying to isolate a noisy signal from your digital electronics, so if you are looking for an IC to provide optical isolation in your circuit design then this IC might be the right choice for you. Then Pull high the collector pin of the transistor using a resistor here I have used 1K and connect the collector pin to the output of your desired logic circuit. The Emitter pin 4 is grounded. This is where the isolation occurs.

Mihai on August 27, at The purpose of an optocoupler is to transfer signals from one circuit to another yet keep them galvanically isolated.

Mihai on June 10, at Mihai on February 2, at 5: Step 2 If the LED is good then we should check the phototransistor, you could measure it with the ohmmeter just like the LED between pins 3 and 4 the emitter and collectorand you should get a high resistance value both ways if the phototransistor is good.

Hi, Both methods are correct. Ado on November pc datasheet, at I was referring to the junction resistance. Evis on November 12, at 7: Here I want to show pc datasheet how to check if an optocoupler is working. I only have a digital multi datassheet.

Kannan E on July pc datasheet, at 9: Thank you for the information. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. Muhammad Akhlaq on May 30, at 9: Save pc datasheet name, pc datasheet, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. You helped me understand how to use a datashwet on a optocoupler Thanks.

But what i want to mention is there pc datasheet a different testing circuit on the datasheet of H11B1. In the datasheet example, a 10V DC is connected at the output, so that one can check the variation in voltage with a voltmeter or an oscilloscope.

Wade on February 5, at 9: Sarfaraz on November 8, at 9: For the triac pins 4 and 6with no pc datasheet applied to the LED pins 1, 2 pc datasheet, check with an ohmmeter the resistance between pins 4 and 6, it should be high open circuit or at least greater than 1 megohm both ways, and this resistance should go pc datasheet lower than ohms when voltage is applied to the LED, and should remain low even if the voltage is no longer present on the LED. Blumen on October 26, at 7: Some features may not work properly.

Mihai on February 6, at Learn how your comment data is processed. Better pc datasheet the datasheet for a test circuit. Hi, The MOC, is a phototriac coupler, meaning that instead of the phototransistor, it has a phototriac, which is basically a triac with the gate driven pc datasheet the LED.
